Ireland, 1209 years. Island of the end of the world. A small group of monks travels through the island, which for hundreds of years has been torn by tribal wars and the growing power of Norman conquerors. They accompany a sacred relic from their monastery – a stone with which St. Matthew, the thirteenth apostle, was killed. The journey is shown through the eyes of a devout young monk and a hermit with a brutal past. What they carry is of great political and religious significance, and their journey to the east coast is becoming more and more dangerous. The late monks understand that in this wild earth, filled with ancient superstitions, what connects them can eventually lead to their death …
